Job summary

The Smilist Dental in New Jersey is seeking a reliable Dental Assistant (Ortho) to join our growing practice, supporting clinicians during orthodontic procedures and delivering high-quality patient care.

This full-time role requires at least 1 year of dental assisting experience, ortho exposure, NJ x-ray license (RDA preferred). You will work in Brick, Toms River, Jackson, Lacey, Englishtown and other sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with at least 1 year.
• Prior ortho experience.
• NJ x-ray license required; RDA preferred.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while attending their concerns and promoting the doctor’s qualities.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, cheerful environment; prepare patients for treatment and assist doctors.
• Escort patients to and from the front desk.
• Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and maintain supplies in each operatory; reorder as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Must be able to work in the following locations: Brick, Toms River, Lacey, Jackson, Englishtown.

Key Responsibilities:

• Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while attending their individual concerns and promoting the good qualities of their doctor
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patient feels comfortable; prepare patients for treatment, and assist the doctors - thereby enabling them to provide efficient quality dental treatment
• Escort patients to and from the front desk
• Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, ordering and replenishing as needed
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant - at least 1 year
• Prior ortho experience
• NJ x-ray license requiredRDA preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures
• Prior Dentrix experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Attention to detail and a positive attitude

• Salary Range:$28.00-$32.00/hour
