Job summary

Konikoff Dental Associates in Chesapeake, VA seeks a dedicated Dental Assistant to support our clinical team and ensure high-quality patient care. You will prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures in a modern, patient-centered office.

Responsibilities include welcoming patients, educating on oral hygiene and post-treatment care, taking X-rays, and maintaining patient records with attention to confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• One year or more on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation).
• X-Ray certification, required.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
