Job summary

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant who will also drive the mobile dental clinic (Dental H.O.M.E. Coach) for the Office of Community Education in the Division of Dental Public Health.

The role includes chair-side assisting for faculty, residents, and students, aiding pediatric and special needs patients, and managing instruments and supplies. Requirements include a valid CDL, background checks, and drug screening.

Qualifications

• 3 months experience in dental office practices and procedures
• 3 months experience in dental operatory practices and procedures
• 3 months experience in four-handed assisting techniques
• 3 months experience in inventory record-keeping
• 100 hrs training in using a computer
• Current CPR/BLS certification and radiographer license required at all times throughout employment

Responsibilities

• Direct chair-side dental assisting for faculty, residents and students in the Dental H.O.M.E. Coach
• Assist with children and special needs patients
• Dis–/re-stocks instruments, equipment and supplies
• Organize records system and clinic inventory
• Take radiographs on young and adult patients
• Maintain efficient clinic operation during sessions at various locations
