Job summary

Smile Starters Dental in Asheville, NC is seeking a Dental Assistant (DA I/II) to join a friendly, patient‑focused team. You will prep rooms, assist chairside during restorative procedures, and take X‑rays, while maintaining strict infection control and a smooth daily flow.

The ideal candidate has a DA certification, NC Radiology certification, and a positive, energetic attitude with strong communication skills. DA II is a plus; mentoring for DA I is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and DA school certification.
• NC Dental Radiology Certification (or willingness to obtain quickly).
• DA II status is a big plus, mentoring the right DA I candidate possible.
• Positive, upbeat energy and strong communication skills.
• Bilingual abilities a plus.
• Proficiency with dental office software and scheduling systems.
• Knowledge of dental instruments and infection control procedures.
• Current CPR Certification, Sterilization and Infection Control certifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain infection control.
• Assist chairside during procedures (restorative, crown/bridge, exams).
• Take and process diagnostic X-rays.
• Welcome patients with a warm smile, manage charting, and ensure smooth daily flow.
• Coordinate with dentist and front desk to provide a 5-star patient experience.
