Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Tongue Point Job Corps Center in Astoria, OR, and seeks a full-time career technical training instructor. The role provides instruction per approved curricula, guides students to achieve training goals, and ensures compliance with government and management directives.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid DANB certification with two years of related experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified, licensed or accredited by a professional trade organization.
• Must hold a valid D.A.N.B. certification with two years related experience.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
• Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits.
• Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
• Maintain organized, clean training environment conductive to learning.
• Administer and correct tests, maintain progress and attendance reports.
• Assist in developing community linkages and volunteers for the career training programs department.
• Assist students with job search and job placement prior to separation, participate in placement follow-up activities for graduates of the vocation.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be responsible for responsible for the career technical training instruction per approved curricula. They will provide training and basic guidance and direction to help students achieve their technical training goals, in compliance with government and management directives.
