Job summary

South Gaston Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant II to join our pediatric team. You will assist dentists chairside, prepare and sterilize instruments, and help create a welcoming, safe environment for children.

We offer full-time, eight-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, with compensation based on experience and a benefits package. Certification in CDA/EFDA and Curve Dental familiarity are a plus; bilingual candidates are welcome.

Qualifications

• CDA or EFDA certification required.
• Coronal Polishing & Nitrous Oxide certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• HIPAA compliance and infection control knowledge.
• Curve Dental software familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pediatric dentists chairside during procedures, ensuring seamless patient care
• Prepare, sterilize, and organize instruments and equipment
• Create a welcoming and comforting experience for children
• Capture dental X-rays in compliance with safety guidelines
• Educate parents and caregivers on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with front-office support as needed
