Job summary

Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC is seeking a Dental Assistant II to support Lawton Indian Hospital in Lawton, OK. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–4:00 pm, with possible shift adjustments and occasional work at Anadarko Indian Health Center as needed.

The role involves recording vital signs, taking radiographs, assisting in general and specialized dental procedures, instrument prep, sterilization, patient education, and coordinating with staff to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in dental assisting direct practice.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work onsite in Lawton, OK.
• Knowledge of instruments, materials, and procedures in restorative, prosthodontic, oral surgical, endodontic and periodontal treatment.
• Knowledge of dental anatomy and radiograph exposure/mounting.
• Ability to explain post-operative instructions and home care.
• Knowledge of sealant placement techniques.
• Knowledge of tooth isolation techniques.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs and screening data in electronic dental records.
• Triage emergency dental patients.
• Take intraoral and panoramic radiographs with diagnostic quality images.
• Chair side assistance in general dentistry and in complex procedures like oral surgery, prosthetics, endodontics, periodontics, pedodontics.
• Prepare instruments and materials; evacuate blood and secretions; transfer instruments to provider.
• Clean/transport instruments; pre-sterilization cleaning, packaging, sterilization; maintain operatory.
• Provide routine prophylaxis and apply topical fluoride as directed.
• Relay post-operative instructions to patients.
• Direct patients or visitors and relay messages to staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
