Job summary

Dental Wellness of Charlotte is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant II with at least 2 years of chairside experience to join our private practice. The ideal candidate will perform four-handed dentistry, handle NC DA II duties, and maintain strict infection-control standards in a warm, drama-free environment.

You will work Monday–Thursday 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, with occasional Friday mornings, utilize OpenDental and digital imaging, and support patients from seating to dismissal.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on chairside dental assisting experience (required).
• Must meet NC State Board DA II qualification requirements (CODA-accredited program, DANB CDA, or 3,000+ hours with NC Board coursework).
• NC Dental Radiography certification is required.
• Current CPR / BLS certification is required.
• NC Coronal Polishing certification (preferred/required per credential pathway).
• NC Nitrous Oxide Monitoring certification (preferred).
• Experience with OpenDental and digital imaging systems is a strong plus (proficiency with modern dental software required).

Responsibilities

• Chairside assisting across comprehensive procedures including restorative, cosmetic (Bioclear), crown and bridge, implant, and surgical procedures.
• Perform all delegable North Carolina DA II duties such as coronal polishing, placing matrix bands, taking impressions/scans, fabricating temporary crowns, and nitrous oxide monitoring.
• Capture high-quality digital radiographs and intraoral photos; update notes, treatment plans, and patient records in OpenDental.
• Greet patients, review medical histories and vitals, explain procedures and post-op instructions, and ensure patient comfort from seating to dismissal.
• Maintain OSHA, CDC, and NC Board sterilization protocols; turnover operatories and help manage supply inventory and lab cases.
