Job summary

Bowman,-Padgett- is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our Greenville, NC practice. The ideal candidate is hands-on, patient-focused, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include chair-side assisting, preparing operatory, sterilization, instrument handling, lab work, and patient education. Prior X-ray and CPR certifications are required; two years of experience preferred. Hours are Monday–Thursday 7:45 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with potential Friday hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• X-Ray Certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Two years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients, answer questions, and collect health histories.
• Prepare treatment areas and pass instruments during procedures.
• Maintain infection control and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Maintain operatory supplies and assist with inventory.
• Complete checklists and participate in daily huddles to ensure smooth flow.
• Support clinical and administrative office functions as needed.
• Assist dentist in crown/bridge prep, oral surgery, and endodontic procedures.
• Handle lab procedures like pouring impressions and fabricating appliances with proper lab slips.
• Provide patient education including post-op instructions and hygiene guidance.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and hand off treatment needs to admin staff.
• Make post-op follow-up calls after invasive procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and team-oriented Dental Assistant to join a growing dental practice in Greenville, NC. Essential Duties:

• Assist patients in resolving minor difficulties, answering their questions, and giving directions to patients as authorized by the dentist. Collect and record all patient health history.
• Timely preparation of treatment area by sterilizing and properly setting for procedures. Serves as dentist’s chair-side assistant including delivering instruments and materials for dentist’s access.
• Maintains dental department equipment and work areas in compliance with policies and procedures relative to infection control and safety issues, including the sterilization of all reusable dental instruments and equipment and the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials
• Maintains adequate operatory supplies and compiles a list for inventory control and ordering purposes.
• Completes checklists as assigned and participates in daily huddles to ensure that every single day flows smoothly.
• Assists with various clinical and administrative functions of the office as appropriate and as time permits and instructed.
• Assists Dentist in advanced procedures such as crown/bridge prep, oral surgery procedures, and endodontic treatment.
• Handle laboratory procedures such as pouring impressions, model trimming, fabricating mouth guards, temporary crowns, retainers, and other appliances as well as case management follow up. This shall include the correct documentation needed for lab slips and contact with the dental laboratory companies.
• Handle patient education such as post op instructions, oral hygiene instruction, consent forms and other forms of clinical education.
• Scheduling of follow up appointments when required.
• Provide a proper handoff to the administration staff and properly communicate ongoing treatment needs.
• Each night, make post up follow up calls to any patients having invasive procedures such as extractions, crowns, or root canals.
• Any other duties as assigned

Education / Experience Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Special Requirements/Certifications/Licenses:

• X-Ray Certification
• Two years of experience, preferred
• Current CPR certification
