Job summary
LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry seeks two applicants for Dental Assistant 1 or Dental Assistant 2. No experience required. Work schedule Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM at 1100 Florida Ave, New Orleans, LA 70119. SER rates start at $14.06/hr (Dental Assistant 1) and $15.05/hr (Dental Assistant 2).
Additional compensation includes longevity pay and DANB/EDDA certification bonuses. Contact Ora Jones at LSU Health Sciences Center for more information.
Qualifications
- Duties include assisting dentists and dental students with chair side treatment.
- Maintain and stock cabinets and supplies.
- Instruct and evaluate students in four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Chart patients using LSUSD Axium systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists and dental students with chair side treatment of patients.
- Maintain and stock cabinet
- Instruct and evaluate students in proper four-handed dentistry techniques
- Chart patients according to LSUSD systems (Axium Computer knowledge)
- Give fluoride treatments as directed by dentist or student
- Give follow-up home instructions as directed by dentist or student
- Place rubber dam and directed by dentist or student
- Remove cement supragingivally from dental restorations and fixed restorations
- Knowledgeable of computers.
