Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Corrections, SCI Camp Hill, is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dental procedures, prepare equipment, and maintain records in a secure, clinical setting. You will assist with chairside care, radiographs, impressions, and patient guidance, contributing to efficient dental operations for inmates.

Full-time position, 37.5 hours/week, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a dental office or clinic.
• Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Chairside assistance during dental procedures, including suction, irrigation, and retraction.
• Prepare materials, sterilize tools, position chairs, and prep patients for treatment.
• Expose, develop, mount, and evaluate dental radiographs.
• Take impressions and create diagnostic casts.
• File, retrieve, and organize dental records per policies.
• Explain preventive care and post-procedure instructions to patients.
