Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the Department of Corrections at SCI Albion. You will assist the dentist, prepare treatment spaces, manage records, and help with radiographs and impressions, all while maintaining a safe clinical environment.

The role requires at least one year in a dental setting or a certified Dental Assisting program, plus RHS exam completion. Training via the Elizabethtown academy is required, and CJIS background is mandatory.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a dental office or clinic.
• Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Chairside support during procedures with tools, charting findings, suction, irrigation and retraction.
• Prepare treatment areas, arrange materials, sterilize equipment, and ready patients for procedures.
• Expose, process, mount, and evaluate radiographs for diagnostic use.
• Take impressions and create study models and diagnostic casts for appliances.
• File, retrieve, and maintain dental records in line with procedures.
• Schedule appointments, maintain call lists, and prepare laboratory forms and referrals.
