Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dental care for inmates at SCI Phoenix. You will assist dentists, prepare tools, process radiographs, take impressions, manage records, and educate patients.

The role requires one year of dental office experience or a certified program and full state employment benefits. In addition, completion of the Radiation Health and Safety Exam and training academy in Elizabethtown, PA are required; CJIS background checks apply.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a dental office or clinic.
• Accredited Dental Assisting certificate program.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must have completed Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam.

Responsibilities

• Chairside Support: Assist dentists during procedures and record findings as directed.
• Procedure Setup: Prepare tools, materials, and workspaces, and sterilize equipment.
• Radiograph Processing: Expose, process, mount, and label dental radiographs.
• Impression Work: Take impressions and prepare diagnostic casts for evaluation.
• Record Handling: Maintain, file, and retrieve dental records according to policy.
• Patient Instruction: Explain preventive care and post-procedure guidance to patients.
