Healthy Smiles Family Dentistry in Gulfport, MS is seeking a dependable, patient-focused Dental Assistant to join our team. You will work chairside with the dentist, prepare clinical areas, and help keep daily operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from a CODA-accredited dental assisting program (or equivalent experience where applicable).
• Current Mississippi Radiology Permit.
• Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and infection control standards.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with dental practice management software.
• Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
• Professional, team-oriented attitude with a strong focus on patient care.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and escort them to treatment rooms.
• Prepare patients for treatment and ensure their comfort throughout the visit.
• Review procedures and post-op instructions, answering patient questions clearly.
• Take and update medical histories and vital signs accurately.
• Set up, break down, and sterilize treatment rooms and instruments according to protocol.
• Provide chairside assistance during exams and procedures.
• Maintain strict infection control and OSHA compliance standards.
• Take dental radiographs (as permitted).
• Support front office tasks, including scheduling and charting, as needed.
