Are you an experienced Dental Assistant looking for your next great opportunity? Join a supportive, mission-driven team at the Albuquerque Indian Health Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We’re seeking full-time contract Dental Assistants who are passionate about providing high-quality care and ready to make a meaningful impact in a well-established clinical setting.

• Full-time flexible Contract, Up to 1 year with Extension Options

• Clinic hours Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

• 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week

• Closed on weekends and all Federal Holidays.

Job Duties:

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in supporting dental providers and ensuring excellent patient care. Your duties will include:

• Placing and finishing routine and complex restorations (amalgam and composite)

• Fabricating and placing temporary crowns and bridges

• Placing and contouring temporary restorations

• Applying endodontic medicaments and desensitizers

• Retracting gingivae for impressions

• Taking preliminary impressions for study models

• Performing oral prophylaxis and fluoride applications

• Applying pit and fissure sealants

• Exposing, processing, and mounting dental radiographs

• Operating ultrasonic scaler (Cavitron) and hand instruments

• Educating patients on home care and post-treatment instructions

• Assisting the dentist by anticipating needs for instruments and materials

• Sterilizing and maintaining dental instruments and equipment

• Ordering and stocking dental supplies

• Supporting daily clinic cleanliness and organization

• Training and mentoring junior dental assistants

• Taking and recording patient vital signs

Requirements

What we need from you:

• · Must be a graduate from Dental Assistant school/program or have relevant experience

• · 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant preferred

• · CDA Certified Dental Assistant RDA, or Registered Dental Assistant preferred

• · To perform expanded functions under the supervision of a licensed dentist, a dental assistant

• · Active AHA BLS or willing to obtain prior to start

• · Must be willing and able to pass Federal Security Clearance, Must be a US citizen

• · Ability to work full time

• · Immunization Records will be required if hired
