Job summary

Kids Dental Place & Orthodontics in Van Nuys, CA, is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the dentist and hygienist in providing high quality, compassionate care to all patients.

Pay range: $17.87-$26.00/hr (CA Dental Certification REQUIRED). Generous pay with monthly bonus opportunities, PTO and paid holidays, and benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401K and more.

Qualifications

• CA Dental Certification required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with patients and parents.
• Ability to multi-task and complete dental tasks accurately.
• Knowledge of e-Clinical Works (eCW) a plus.
• Previous experience in a dental office preferred.
• Current BLS CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Collect and document patient records clearly and concisely.
• Obtain dental radiographs as requested by the dentist.
• Write accurate notes ensuring chart notes match services.
• Build friendly relationships with patients and parents and educate on oral health.
• Sterilize instruments and organize workstations per OSHA standards.
• Keep the practice clean and presentable including restrooms and lobby.
• Support mission with other duties for compassionate, high-quality care.

Job Responsibilities

• Collect and document clear, concise, and accurate patient records
• Obtain quality dental radiographs (periapicals, bitewings, panoramic) as requested by the dentist
• Write accurate and consistent notes, ensuring chart notes match services completed
• Create a friendly relationship with patients and parents as well as educating them on good oral health
• Organize and sterilizing dental instruments and workstations per OSHA standards
• Ensure practice is clean and presentable to patients to include cleaning restrooms, patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.
• Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children

Job Qualifications

• Radiology education and training that meets state requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills, including a friendly outgoing demeanor and the ability to actively listen to patients and parents
• Ability to multi-task and complete dental tasks correctly and in a timely manner
• Knowledge of e-Clinical Works (eCW) a plus
• Previous experience working in a dental office preferred
• Current BLS CPR certification
