Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's State Correctional Institution at Somerset is seeking a Dental Assistant to support a Dentist, gain hands-on clinical experience, and help maintain a healthy facility environment.

You will assist with chairside procedures, prep the workspace, process radiographs, and manage patient records. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Somerset, PA, with a salary range of $36,831 to $54,162 annually.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a dental office or clinic; or completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must have completed the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam.
• Basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• Must pass a background check and CJIS compliance.
• Veterans' preference applies as per Pennsylvania law.

Responsabilités

• Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures using suction, irrigation, and drying techniques.
• Prepare tools, sterilize equipment, and set up the workspace for procedures.
• Expose, process, mount, and evaluate patient radiographs for diagnosis.
• Take dental impressions and prepare casts for study models and appliances.
• Schedule appointments, maintain dental records, and manage records per policy.
• Explain preventative care steps and post-procedural instructions to patients.
