Job summary

Armor Health is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team at Blair County Jail in Hollidaysburg, PA. The role supports dentists with clinical, administrative and radiography tasks in a correctional setting, ensuring patient care and compliance.

The position requires graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program, current CPR, and at least one year of experience. Proficiency with electronic medical records and ability to obtain Level 2 clearance are essential.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program with current state license/certification to practice.
Current CPR certificate.
At least one year experience as a Dental Assistant.
Proficient with electronic medical records.
Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Provide a range of clinical, administrative, and staff services assisting the professional dental staff under general supervision.
Assist the Dentist in providing dental and radiography procedures.
Provide chairside assistance to dentists in the performance of dental procedures to include preventive and prosthetic procedures.
Prepare, sterilize, organize, and set up dental equipment.
Ensure all dental instruments are cleaned, dated, and processed according to established clinic guidelines and OSHA standards; and maintain the overall cleanliness of the dental area.
Monitor, and maintain dental equipment such as radiographic developing equipment, and sterilizers in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines.
Develop and process dental radiographs in accordance with provider orders.
Assist in monitoring and maintenance of radiation safety procedures and protocols.
Order and maintain inventories of dental clinic supplies.
Interact with and process dental clinic patients; schedule appointments, maintain dental charts, record dental findings using the POMR charting format.
