Job summary

Dental Expressions in Bayside, NY is seeking a talented Dental Assistant to join our patient-centered team. You will assist chairside during various procedures, prepare sterilization, take X-rays, and help maintain accurate patient records with Dentrix.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years in a dental office, and familiarity with Dentrix and Dexis. Certification preferred; strong communication and multitasking in a fast-paced setting are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; dental assisting certification or vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a dental office or facility.
• Knowledge of Dentrix software, Dexis radiography, dental terminology and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of dental procedures including fillings, extractions, and implant surgery.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatory rooms between patients.
• Take dental X-rays (radiographs) as directed
• Greet patients, review medical histories, and ensure a comfortable patient experience
• Prepare setups for specific dental procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts using Dentrix
• Educate patients on post-procedure care and answer any questions or concerns
• Be prepared for the day by going over daily huddle with team
• Order supplies for practice in coordination with doctor
