St. Luke's University Health Network seeks a Dental Services Assistant to provide clinical assistance to the dental staff and support comprehensive patient treatment.

The role includes preparing the clinic, assisting the dentist in procedures with four-handed techniques, and recording patient data in the EMR system. The position requires a high school diploma, CPR/BLS certification (or to be certified within 90 days), and a preference for PA X-ray certification and a dental assisting program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• If not CPR/BLS certified, certification within 90 days of hire.
• PA X-ray certification preferred.
• Certification from accredited Dental Assisting Program preferred.
• Minimum of one year hands-on dental assisting experience preferred.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing the Clinic to receive patients.
• Assists the Dentist in all procedures, including four-handed dentistry, and records patient data in the EMR system.
• Maintains operatory equipment through cleaning, sterilization and maintenance.
• Maintains inventory and submits supply orders as needed.
• Helps train new dental assistant staff on operations and procedures.
• Demonstrates competency across age-specific patient assessment, treatment and communication.
