Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Dental Services Assistant to provide clinical assistance to the dental staff and support comprehensive patient treatment.

The role involves preparing the clinic, assisting the Dentist in procedures, and maintaining operatory equipment while ensuring proper sterilization and inventory management. Ideal candidates have at least one year of hands-on dental assisting experience and may be bilingual in Spanish.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/BLS certification required; if not CPR/BLS certified, must be certified within 90 days of hire.
• PA x-ray certification preferred.
• Certification from accredited Dental Assisting Program preferred.
• Minimum of one year hands-on dental assisting experience preferred.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing the Clinic to receive patients.
• Assists the Dentist in all procedures, requiring four-handed dentistry, assists Dentist in recording patient data in the EMR system.
• Provides operatory equipment maintenance through cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of equipment and instruments.
• Maintains inventory and submits supply orders to Clinical Lead as needed.
• Assists in training new dental assistant staff, regarding operations and procedures.
• Demonstrates competency in assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to patient age.
• Other duties as assigned.
