Job summary

Elica Health Centers in California seeks a Dental Assistant to support dentists and staff with patient care, office and lab duties. You will help manage patient flow, take x-rays, and assist during visits in a busy clinic.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a dental assisting program, CA Dental Practice Act and 8-hour infection control courses, current BLS certification, and X-ray certification per the Dental Board of California.

Elica’s Dental program includes comprehensive dental services, dental residency program, mobile dental program, and school-based dental program. We employ the latest technology to efficiently and effectively serve our Dental patients. Our state of the art Dental facilities are equipped with panoramic x-rays and digital intraoral scanners to take impressions and engage patients in their oral health care. Our dentists and residents are certified in the use of the 9.3 micron CO2 hard and soft tissue laser, which allows us to perform fillings without the need for local anesthesia. This laser also allows us to provide additional services to our patients such as gingivectomies and crown lengthening without needing to refer to specialists. Our electronic health records system is integrated with our Medical and Integrated Behavioral Health departments to allow us to work together to improve the overall health of our community.

What You'll Do:

Provide quality care and services to patients by assisting dentist(s) and other staff in a variety of patient care, office and laboratory duties. Affect the efficiency and productivity of patient flow through timely, accurate and professional patient interactions, taking x-rays, assisting during patient visits.

Compensation: $25.00 - $31.00 an hour - Dependent Upon Experience

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a formal Dental Assisting program preferred
• Completion of CA Dental Practice act course
• Completion of an 8 Hour Infection control course
• Current BLS certified
• X-Ray (Radiation safety) certification or successful completion of a radiation safety course that satisfies the requirements outlined by the Dental Board of California.

Additional Requirements

• Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.
