Job summary

Heartland Dental is seeking a Dental Assistant in Lansing, MI to join a fast-paced, patient‑centered office. You’ll support clinicians with four‑handed dentistry, manage imaging (including iTero), and keep treatment areas ready and compliant. Experience with Dentrix and state radiology certification preferred, with HIPAA training required.

Qualifications

• Michigan radiology certification or willingness to obtain.
• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and provide patient education.
• Review patient health history to support quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) during procedures.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and records management.
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols (OSHA & CDC).
• Manage supplies and inventory; place and expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems.
