Job summary

Long Creek Dental, part of Heartland Dental, seeks a Dental Assistant to support a collaborative team in Decatur, IL. You’ll greet patients, review health histories, and assist with x-rays and procedures using iTero scanners and Dentrix scheduling—maintaining safety and patient comfort throughout visits.

The ideal candidate has dental assisting certification (and x-ray credential where required), strong communication skills, and a commitment to HIPAA and PHI protection.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and educate throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to support quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) during procedures.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms with safety protocols and OSHA/CDCs guidelines.
• Manage supply and inventory; place and expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems.
