Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Dental Services Assistant to provide clinical support to the dental staff and help deliver comprehensive patient treatment. The role focuses on preparing the clinic, assisting the dentist, and maintaining operatory equipment.

With at least one year of dental assisting experience preferred, bilingual Spanish is a plus. CPR/BLS certification is required, with certification due within 90 days if not already certified.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/BLS certification required; if not held, must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• PA x-ray certification preferred.
• Certification from an accredited Dental Assisting Program preferred.
• Minimum of one year hands-on dental assisting experience preferred.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing the Clinic to receive patients.
• Assists the Dentist in all procedures, four-handed dentistry, assists Dentist in recording patient data in the EMR system.
• Provides operatory equipment maintenance through proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of all equipment and instruments.
• As necessary, maintains inventory and submits supply orders to Clinical Lead.
• Assists in the training of new dental assistant staff, regarding operations and procedures.
• Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
• Other duties as assigned.
