Job summary

Williamsburg Family Dental in Williamsburg, VA is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our established practice. The role involves chairside assistance, radiographs, instrument sterilization, updating patient histories, and supporting front office tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of experience, X-ray certification, CPR/BLS, and EagleSoft experience; EFDA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 year of dental assisting experience required.
• X-ray certification (or ability to obtain per state requirements).
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• EFDA certification preferred (if applicable).
• Experience with EagleSoft dental software.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of procedures.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories in accordance with infection control protocols.
• Take digital radiographs (X-rays) and intraoral images.
• Record and update patient medical histories and clinical notes accurately.
• Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures.
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
• Maintain operatory cleanliness and organization.
• Manage inventory and restock supplies as needed.
• Support front office duties as needed, including scheduling and patient communication.
