Job summary

The GEO Group is hiring a Dental Assistant to support examination and oral surgery procedures for detainees/inmates in Colorado. This role requires completing a dental assistant program and holding the appropriate license or certification where required by the state, with preference given to candidates with 1+ year of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate from an accredited dental assistant program and a current license/certification (where applicable) to practice in the facility's state is required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Dental Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Dental Assistant sterilizes instruments and lays out tools for scheduled procedures.
• Provides chair-side assistance by keeping the operating field clear, passing instruments, and suctioning.
• Mixes restorative materials as required and assists in taking intra-oral and extra-oral x-rays as requested.
• Develops and mounts x-ray films and maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the dental clinic per OSHA standards.
• Performs dental screenings and schedules appointments; maintains dental charts and records.
