Job summary

El Dorado Community Health Centers is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the Dentist in delivering high-quality dental care in a clinical setting. You will prepare operatory, assist chairside, take radiographs, and ensure infection control standards are met while coordinating with front office when needed.

The role requires teamwork, attention to safety protocols, and flexibility to work across EDCHC locations as needed. A valid dental assisting pathway credential is required.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification current.
• Dental X-ray Certification current.
• Board-approved Dental Practice Act course completed.
• Board-approved 8-hour Infection Control course completed.
• Complete EDCHC Dental Assisting Pathway program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operatory and dental instruments for patient visits.
• Seat patient, explain procedures and take health histories.
• Assist dentist with four-handed dentistry and instrument transfer.
• Take and prepare radiographs following safety protocols.
• Maintain infection control and sterilization per OSHA/CDC/ADA.
• Assist with charting and patient management during procedures.
• Support front office tasks and patient flow as needed.
• Provide coverage for mobile dental services when required.
