Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists during procedures, prepare treatment areas, and educate patients on oral care. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, 2 years' dental assisting experience preferred, and qualify for state licensing as a dental assistant (preferred).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of dental assisting experience preferred.
• Licensed or eligible for Registered Dental Assistant preferred.
• Radiology license preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations, fillings, crowns and extractions.
• Prepare and maintain instruments, equipment and treatment areas.
• Take and develop dental radiographs as directed.
• Record and update patient medical histories and treatment notes.
• Provide oral hygiene instructions and post-operative care guidance.
• Monitor and maintain dental inventory and supplies.
