Job summary

LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans is seeking Dental Assistant 1 or 2 to provide chair side support to licensed dentists and dental students across multiple specialties at the LSUHSC School of Dentistry.

Responsibilities include assisting with four-handed dentistry, maintaining cabinets, charting, fluoride applications, radiographs, and creating study models under supervision in the Orthodontics Department and clinic settings.

Qualifications

• No experience required for DA1.
• For DA2, one year experience or training as a dental assistant or dental hygienist.
• Pre-employment Drug testing and Criminal Background check are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists and dental students with chair side treatment of patients.
• Maintain and stock cabinets.
• Instruct and evaluate students in proper four-handed dentistry; chart patients.
• Expose digital radiographs and traditional radiographs; take digital photographs.
• Make study models from alginate impressions.
