Job summary

So IL Health Care Foundation in Bethalto/Baden area is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the Dental Director, dentists and hygienists in patient care, chair side assisting, and related administrative tasks.

Responsibilities include instrument prep, sterilization, patient scheduling, charting, and routine reception work. Knowledge of English and Spanish is a plus; CPR and coronal polishing certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school for Dental Assistant or completion of SIHF credentialing program preferred.
• CPR certification and coronal polishing certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists and hygienists in chair side procedures.
• Prepare and set up instruments, materials, and equipment for procedures.
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain equipment and work areas.
• Take X-rays as necessary and schedule patients.
• Process encounters, billing and bookkeeping procedures; assist with insurance forms.
