Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited course in dental assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist with oral hygiene instruction.
• Take, develop and mount X-rays.
• Take impressions of dentures for dental appliances.
• Order and maintain supply inventory.
• Prepare operatories and ensure infection control.
• Document patient status, care rendered and orders.
• Maintain patient follow-up procedures.
• Assist front desk staff when needed.
• Complete all care documentation in a timely manner.
• Attend care team meetings and trainings.
• Maintain licensure and continuing education requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission).
• Develop internal relationships with care team and other staff.
• Interact respectfully with patients and families.
• Collaborate with care team to provide patient-centered care.
