Job summary

The Bucksport Regional Health Center is seeking a capable Dental Assistant to support the Dentist in delivering quality patient care. You will prepare treatment rooms, take and assist with radiographs, and help maintain infection control and a clean, organized office.

Responsibilities include patient reception at times, chart updates, four-handed dentistry support, and ongoing education of patients on oral hygiene. Previous dental assisting experience is required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience as a Dental Assistant is required.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply clinical policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the dental office for the day and set up treatment rooms.
• Take and prepare x-rays and assist with four-handed dentistry.
• Maintain infection-control procedures and sterilize instruments.
• Prepare patients, update medical histories, and monitor vital signs as needed.
• Assist in inventory management and equipment maintenance.
• Provide patient education on home care and hygiene.
