SWLA Center for Health Services is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists and hygienists in delivering primary dental care. The role includes chair-side assistance, radiograph exposure, operatory setup, sterilization, and inventory control within a busy clinic.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, dental assisting training, and CPR certification, with English proficiency and Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of accredited dental assisting course preferred.
• Certified Dental Assistant preferred.
• Current CPR (BLS) required.
• Effective English communication; Spanish preferred.
• Knowledge of dental materials, instruments, and sterilization procedures.
• Ability to multitask and work with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist Dentist and Hygienist in direct patient care.
• Seat and prepare operatory for treatments.
• Expose and develop dental radiographs; use radiograph software.
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols.
• Maintain dental equipment, supplies, and inventory.
• Answer calls and coordinate with patients and staff.
• Support administrative tasks and teamwork within the center.
• Ensure sterility of reusable instruments and proper disposal of waste.
