Job summary

Family Dentistry Associates of Johnstown in Johnstown, PA is seeking a dependable Dental Assistant to provide four-handed chairside support during exams, restorations, extractions, and more. The practice uses CEREC technology and an in-office lab to deliver efficient care.

The role requires PA X-ray certification and offers a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule with hourly pay based on experience and a standard ADC benefits package.

Qualifications

• PA X-ray certification required.
• Previous dental assisting experience preferred.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Dependable work ethic and attention to detail.
• A caring approach that helps patients feel at ease.
• Experience with digital scanning or CEREC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide four-handed chairside assistance during exams and procedures.
• Prepare instruments, materials, and treatment rooms.
• Take dental X-rays within credentials and applicable state requirements.
• Take impressions, digital scans, and intraoral photos as directed.
• Welcome patients, review medical histories, and help patients feel comfortable.
• Reinforce patient education and post-operative instructions provided by the dentist.
• Sterilize instruments, disinfect treatment areas, and maintain sterilization records.
• Keep clinical supplies stocked and work areas organized.
• Follow infection-control, safety, and patient-confidentiality protocols.
