Responsibilities
  • Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Welcome and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
  • Ensure infection control, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, scheduling, and intake documentation.
  • Assist in managing dental and medical emergencies, maintaining CPR certification, emergency supplies, and contact information.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
  • Expanded Functions Dental Assistant certification required.
  • X-Ray certification required.
  • Nitrous Oxide certification highly recommended.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Dental Assistants are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
