We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Bright Now! Dental in Stafford, VA. Our office is a multi-specialty practice, specializing in Oral Surgery, Periodontics, and Orthodontics. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled individual to work alongside top-tier oral surgeons, periodontists, and orthodontists in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.


Schedule (days/hours)

Mon - Wed 7:45am-5pm, Thurs 9am-6pm, Fri 8am-4pm, 1 Sat a month 7am-2pm
Responsibilities

  • Oral Surgery Assistance: Provide chairside support during surgical procedures such as extractions, implants, bone grafts, and soft tissue surgeries. Assist with the preparation and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Periodontal Care: Support periodontal treatments, including scaling and root planning, pocket reduction surgery, and bone grafting. Educate patients on the importance of periodontal health and postsurgical care.
  • Orthodontic Support: Assist orthodontists with placing and adjusting braces, aligners, and other orthodontic appliances. Take impressions, assist with appliance fitting, and provide patient education regarding orthodontic care.
  • X-Rays & Imaging: Perform diagnostic imaging, including digital X-Raysand CBCT scans (if applicable). Prepare and position patients for imaging, and ensure proper handling and processing of images.
  • Patient Care & Comfort: Create a positive, welcoming atmosphere for patients, explaining procedures and providing reassurance. Ensure patients are comfortable throughout their treatments and follow up on post-operative care instructions.
  • Sterilization & Infection Control: Ensure all surgical, orthodontic, and periodontal instruments are properly sterilized and maintained in accordance with infection control protocols.
  • Treatment Documentation: Accurately update patient records, chart treatment progress, and document any necessary notes during and after procedures.
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with clear, thorough instructions on home care, post-operative recovery, and oral hygiene specific to their treatment plans, whether it’s post-surgical, periodontal, or orthodontic care.
  • Team Collaboration: Work in close collaboration with oral surgeons, periodontists, orthodontists, and administrative staff to ensure smooth officeoperations, optimal patient care, and seamless appointment scheduling.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experienceas a general Dental Assistant
  • 2 years experienceassisting with Oral Surgery or Periodontics, a comprehensive understanding of these specialties is essential
  • Current X-ray certification and experience with digital radiography
  • CPR or BLS required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients and the dental team effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with orthodontic procedures is preferred (we can train)

Compensation

$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
