Job summary

Responsibilities include sterilizing equipment, managing dental supplies, and ensuring proper documentation of services. A valid driver's license and a minimum age of 21 are required, with at least one year of dental assisting

Responsibilities

• Set up instruments for each patient and assist with treatments.
• Sterilize the dental unit and instruments after each treatment and prepare for the next patient.
• Control medications, syringes and other dental supplies; inventory as required by procedures.
• Keep equipment and work area clean; follow sanitation methods.
• Review dental services to prevent improper use or duplication of services.
• Review inmate/resident status for completion of all necessary treatments.

Job description

$20.89 / hour At CoreCivic, we do more than manage inmates, we care for people. CoreCivic is currently seeking Dental Assistants who have a passion for providing the highest quality care in an institutional setting.

The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements.

• Assistant dentist with the treatment of inmates/residents by setting up all instruments for each patient and treatment to be rendered and preparing impressions and filling materials.
• After each treatment, sterilize the dental unit and instruments used and replace instruments prior to the next patient treatment.
• Control medication, syringes and other dental supplies or equipment; inventory as required by established procedures
• Keep equipment and work area clean; utilize appropriate sanitation methods.
• Review dental services provided to prevent the inappropriate use or duplication of services.
• Review status of inmates/residents for completion of all necessary intervention and treatments and services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent or greater.
• One-year dental assisting experience is required.
• Certificate or evidence of completion of a dental assistant training program or other requirements that meet the criteria of the Dental Practice Act in the state of practice, in compliance with contract or applicable statutes is required.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
