Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking Dental Assistants (PRN) who provide high-quality care in an institutional setting. You will assist the dentist, prepare instruments, and ensure sterility for inmates/residents.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of dental assisting experience, a state-compliant training certificate, a valid driver's license, and being 18 years or older. This is a Drug-Free Workplace & EOE situation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist with treatment of inmates/residents by setting up instruments and preparing materials.
• Sterilize dental unit and instruments after each treatment and replace before next patient.
• Control medications, syringes and other dental supplies; inventory as required.
• Keep equipment and work area clean; follow sanitation methods.
• Review dental services to prevent inappropriate use or duplication of services.
• Review status of inmates/residents for completion of all necessary interventions and treatments.

The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assistant dentist with the treatment of inmates/residents by setting up all instruments for each patient and treatment to be rendered and preparing impressions and filling materials.
• After each treatment, sterilize the dental unit and instruments used and replace instruments prior to the next patient treatment.
• Control medication, syringes and other dental supplies or equipment; inventory as required by established procedures
• Keep equipment and work area clean; utilize appropriate sanitation methods.
• Review dental services provided to prevent the inappropriate use or duplication of services.
• Review status of inmates/residents for completion of all necessary intervention and treatments and services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent or greater.
• One year of dental assisting experience is required.
• Certificate or evidence of completion of a dental assistant training program or other requirements that meet the criteria of the Dental Practice Act in the state of practice, in compliance with contract or applicable statutes is required.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
