Job Description/Duties Include:

  1. Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
  2. Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
  3. Sterilizes and delivers instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
  4. Selects, mixes, and places materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
  5. Exposes and develops radiographic studies; pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
  6. Maintains patient confidence and protecting operations by keeping information confidential.
  7. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  8. Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols.
  9. Completes preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  10. Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  11. Obtains prior authorizations.
  12. Scans.
  13. Handles patient phone calls.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Dental Assistant diploma preferred; but will train.
  3. X-Ray Certification required within the first 6 months of employment.
