Base pay range: $21.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Organization Overview

Harmony Healthcare Long Island, formerly LIFQHC, is a non-profit with 7 health centers in Nassau County, offering primary care and preventative medicine, along with additional services like school-based health centers, WIC offices, and care coordination programs. Job Title and Reporting

Title: Dental Assistant

Reports to: Dental Operations Manager

Responsibilities

1. Assist with patient preparation and care in dental examinations
2. Serve as a translator for patients as needed
3. Greet and register patients using eClinical Works
4. Assist new patients with registration and verify documents
5. Distribute patient rights and forms
6. Refer patients appropriately and act as a liaison
7. Assist the dentist as a chair-side assistant using accepted techniques
8. Provide patient counseling about procedures
9. Maintain inventories and supplies
10. Maintain logs and data as required
11. Advocate for patients and participate in outreach and quality assurance activities
12. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. Dental Assistant Certification
3. Basic CPR (BCLS) Certification
4. At least two years of healthcare experience
5. Ability to cover all sites as needed

Work Schedule and Compensation

Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM, with one evening shift and one rotating Saturday per month. Salary is commensurate with experience.
