Job summary

Where Smiles Grow Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant to join a caring, child-friendly team in the Latham area. The role offers training for newcomers and a collaborative environment focused on excellent patient care.

You will prepare treatment rooms, assist dentists during procedures, maintain records in Dentrix, and support patients and families with clear guidance on oral hygiene. Monday–Friday schedules and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and grow in the dental field.
• No prior experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize dental treatment rooms and instruments prior to patient appointments.
• Assist dentists during procedures by handing instruments, suctioning, and ensuring patient comfort.
• Perform sterilization and disinfection of dental tools following infection control protocols.
• Maintain patient records using Dentrix, including updating medical histories and treatment plans.
• Educate patients and guardians on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times.
• Monitor inventory of dental supplies for daily operations.
• Adhere to body motion and ergonomics best practices for safety.

• Assist dentists during various dental procedures by handing instruments, suctioning, and ensuring patient comfort.

• Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix, including updating medical histories and treatment plans.
• Educate patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care with empathy and clear communication.
• Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of dental supplies and materials, ensuring availability for daily operations.
• Adhere to body motion and ergonomics best practices to maintain personal health and safety during clinical tasks.

• Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 5:15PM

• Pay Range: $20 - $26
• Primary Location: Latham
  • Ability to commute to Delmar and Schodack offices on an as needed basis preferred
