Baystate Dental in Springfield, MA is seeking a Dental Assistant to support our clinical team and enhance patient care in a team-based setting.

The ideal candidate has a one-year certified dental assistant program, at least 1 year of experience, and X-Ray and Nitrous Oxide certifications. We offer comprehensive benefits and a modern practice environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• 1 year on-the-job experience.
• X-Ray certification.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake as needed.
• Assist in emergencies by supporting CPR measures and emergency equipment.

• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

• High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
