Baystate Dental in Northampton, Massachusetts, is hiring a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team, prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures. The role requires prior dental assisting experience and offers full-time hours Monday–Thursday 8–5 and Friday 8–4 with generous benefits.

You'll help educate patients on oral hygiene, take X-rays when needed, and maintain records while adhering to infection control and safety standards in a modern office

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• X-Ray certification is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior dental assisting experience is required to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.
• Assist dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies by supporting CPR certification and emergency supplies.

Education

• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
