Job summary

All Care Health Center seeks a qualified Dental Assistant to support patient care in our Council Bluffs clinic. You will prepare operatories, take and mount radiographs, and ensure sterile instruments and equipment are ready for each procedure.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient preparation and discharge, taking vital signs, and supporting documentation for billing and charting. Iowa certs are required or obtainable within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assisting Certificate in Iowa is required.
• Iowa Radiology Certification or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire.
• Previous training and experience in dental assisting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, clean, and set up operatories for patient appointments.
• Take and mount dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Prepare sterile instruments and equipment for procedures.
• Prepare patients for their appointment and discharge; obtain medical history, and monitor vitals as needed.
• Assist with patient documentation, billing, and charting per provider workflow.

A typical schedule is Monday- Friday: 7:30am- 5:00pm, with one late night until 7:00pm, and a rotating Saturday schedule of 7:30am-12:00pm

Pay offer is based on education, certification and experience:

• Non-certified DA range: $18-20
• Certified DA range: $21-25

DUTIES

• Prepares, cleans, and sets up operatories for patient appointments
  • Takes and mounts dental radiographs (x-rays)
  • Prepares sterile instruments and equipment
• Prepares patients for their appointment and discharge as well
  • Asks about patient's medical history
  • Takes blood pressure and pulse
• Performs dental assistant duties per provider workflow and practice
• Provides and assists with patient discharge
  • Provides patients with instruction for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedure
  • Registers patients for appointment, if necessary
  • Assists with documentation for accurate billing and charting

QUALIFICATIONS

• Active Dental Assisting Certificate in the state of Iowa
• Iowa Radiology Certification, or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire
• Previous training and experience in dental assisting preferred.
