About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant for a 6‑month contract position starting as soon as possible with an established dental practice in Schertz, TX.
Employment Type: Contract (6 months)
Schedule: Flexible – Part time or Full time
Hours: 20–50 hours per week (based on availability)
Location: Schertz, TX
Key Responsibilities
- Assist dentist during various dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms.
- Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays).
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations.
- Provide chairside assistance and ensure patient comfort throughout procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
- Manage infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Educate patients on post‑treatment care and oral hygiene.
- Perform front office duties as needed, including scheduling and patient communication.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on dental assisting experience, OR recent graduate of an accredited dental assisting program.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures.
- Understanding of infection control and sterilization procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Professional, friendly demeanor with patients of all ages.
- Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred but Not Required
- Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification.
- Experience with dental practice management software.
