Job summary

Wexford Health Sources is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to support the Guadalupe Correctional Facility in Santa Rosa, NM. Under the dentist supervision, you will assist during exams and procedures and help maintain a safe, organized clinic.

Responsibilities include chair-side assistance, radiography as permitted, sterilization, patient prep, and managing supplies. The role emphasizes patient care and smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• Expanded Functions OR CDA Certification required.
• Dental Radiology Certification (if not included in above certification)
• High School diploma or GED required
• Experience in a dental setting preferred; CPR certification required
• Familiarity with electronic medical records a plus

• Assist the dentist chair-side during exams and procedures.
• Prepare patients for treatment and support dental hygiene education.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards.
• Set up and break down treatment areas and equipment.
• Taking and processing intra-oral x-rays as permitted.
• Maintain accurate patient records within the medical record system.
• Manage dental supplies, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
• Support dental sick call and emergency screenings.
• Ensure the dental clinic remains clean, stocked, and ready for daily operations.

SCHEDULE: PT shift (20 hours per week)

Position Summary
