POSITION: Dental Assistant
SCHEDULE: Part‑time / 10 hours weekly / Works Wednesday and Thursday
FACILITY: Western Virginia Regional Jail
LOCATION: Salem, VA

Position Summary

Working under the supervision of the Dentist, you’ll assist in providing dental care while maintaining a safe, clean, and well‑organized clinical environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the dentist chair‑side during exams and procedures
• Preparing patients for treatment and supporting dental hygiene education
• Sterilizing instruments and maintaining infection control standards
• Setting up and breaking down treatment areas and equipment
• Taking and processing intra‑oral x‑rays as permitted
• Maintaining accurate patient records within the medical record system
• Managing dental supplies, inventory, and equipment maintenance
• Supporting dental sick call and emergency screenings
• Ensuring the dental clinic remains clean, stocked, and ready for daily operations

You’ll go beyond assisting. You’ll help create a smooth, supportive experience that keeps patient care moving forward.
