Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a dedicated dental support professional to join our multi-specialty team. You will help with patient safety, charting, and preparing exam rooms, while ensuring high standards of infection control and care.

Responsibilities include taking X-rays, maintaining digital records, educating patients, and supporting the clinical team in daily operations. CPR/AED and X-ray certification are required or pursued, with bilingual Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active CPR and AED training.
• Must have an X-Ray Certification from the State of Arizona or DANB.
• Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide.
• Annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training.
• Dental practice management software (Open Dental, Dentrix) experience is helpful.
• Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS certifications are a huge plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to OSHA and Infection Control protocols, dispose of sharps safely.
• Maintain digital patient records including health history and treatment plans.
• Educate patients and parents on oral health benefits.
• Monitor patient well-being during visits.
• Prepare tray setups per doctor preferences.
• Ensure exam rooms are cleaned, disinfected, stocked.
• Chart existing treatments and update patient charts.
• Review patient chart and health history prior to doctor arrival.
• Take diagnostic quality X-Rays and attach to chart.
• Assist Rodeo Team with cleaning duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one
• Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner
• Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
• Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
• Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
• Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
• Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
• Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
• Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
• Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
• Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
• Performs all other duties as assigned

• Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
