Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics is seeking a qualified dental support team member in Arizona. The role emphasizes patient safety, infection control, accurate charting, and coordination of radiographic imaging.

Ideal candidates hold X-Ray certification in AZ or DANB, CPR/AED, and nitrous oxide monitoring credentials, with familiarity using Open Dental or Dentrix software. Bilingual Spanish is preferred, with opportunities across multiple specialties within the Rodeo network.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active CPR and AED training
  • Must have an X-Ray Certification from the State of Arizona or DANB
  • Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
  • Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
  • Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize patient and team safety.
  • Adhere to OSHA and Infection Control protocols, and safely dispose of sharps and waste.
  • Maintain digital patient artifacts including health history, eligibility, treatment plans, and appointments.
  • Educate patients and parents on oral health benefits.
  • Monitor patient's physical and emotional well‑being during visits.
  • Prepare tray setups as per doctor preferences.
  • Ensure exam rooms are cleaned, disinfected, organized and stocked.
  • Chart existing treatment and update patient charts.
  • Review health history before doctor arrival and reconfirm concerns.
  • Take diagnostic X-Rays and attach to patient chart.
  • Assist Rodeo Team with cleaning surfaces and common areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one
  • Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner
  • Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
  • Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
  • Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
  • Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
  • Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
  • Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
  • Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
  • Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
  • Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
